Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has admitted that his side are the favourites to end up in the third spot at the end of the season.
At the moment, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are sitting in the third spot, but Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are hot on the Gunners trail. As a result, a slip up on the last day of the season could see the team miss out on a top four finish.
The manager seems to be more than confident in his team’s abilities and expects them to end the season on a high.
When talking about his team and just what he expects from them in the last game of the season, Wenger is reported to have said: “Before this game, we are in a fantastic position and, if we win, we don't need to look at anything else. We want to finish third.”
"For long periods this season our fate has not been in our own hands, but it is now. We have to look at this final match as an opportunity, and one we have to take.”
"I feel we are focused, switched on and I'm confident we'll do well. For us it is just to find the right mixture – to be focused, combative and relaxed, and especially be faithful to play our football like we want to.”
"We have known final days like this before, games where we've been playing for titles, or to qualify for the Champions League. We are used to coping with that.”
Over the course of the last couple of months, Arsenal have gone on to show just how resilient they can be, by going on and climbing up the league table, to claim the third spot.
However, it is now up to the team to maintain their form and stance at the top of the table at such a crucial moment in time.
The team already went on to drop some valuable points against Norwich and a repeat of that performance on the last day of the season, could prove to be a massive step backwards for the team.
It is now a wait to see just how Arsenal see the season out.
