Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to claim that the club have already replaced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 and won’t go around looking for more strikers to replace him.
The Gunners leading goal scorer from last season has gone on to move to Manchester United. A move away from the Emirates had been in the works for quite some time, but with him joining the Red Devils, just about everyone was surprised.
However, following the move, a number of people went on to ask Wenger about who would come in to replace the forward.
In response to those questions, Wenger stated that the club had already replaced the forward and that they were still in the transfer market to strengthen other areas of the team.
"We already recruited to replace him.”
The team went on to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 and Olivier Giroud earlier in the transfer window and it seems like Wenger was preparing for the inevitable, once he made those signings.
The Gunners boss also insisted that the team had no choice but to let the player go, considering the fact that he was in the last year of his contract with the team and was nearing thirty years of age.
He continued: "It's sad to lose a player of his quality. He had a year left on his contract so we didn't have the choice."
The Dutch international is set to undergo a medical at United in the coming hours and following the conclusion of those tests, he is going to put pen to paper on a contract with the Red Devils.
Once that happens, we would see another one of the summers most talked about transfer get laid to rest.
At the same time, it is rather surprising to see the curse of being Arsenal’s captain take its toll on the team once again.
Nonetheless, with Wenger being prepared for the worst this time around, it seems like all home is not lost just yet.
The manager is going to fight to make the team as good as he possibly can, in order to ensure that the Gunners have a fighting chance at landing silver ware this coming season.
