http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 will miss out the remainder of the season due to his injury.
The Gunners took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the Premier League this past weekend and following a nil all draw, the team went on to maintain their stay in the third spot in the league table.
However, as the match neared its conclusion, Theo Walcott was spotted on the sidelines clutching his hamstring. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international was substituted shortly after, but the damage seems to have been done.
The Gunners boss has now confirmed that the injury is semi serious and would rule the winger out for the remainder of the season.
When talking about Walcott, the Gunners boss is quoted to have said: "Theo looks to have a serious hamstring [injury]," Wenger told reporters. He wanted to stay on. It will be tough to come back this season."
The manager then went on to claim that the game his side played was a little strange and that both the teams seemed more than happy to come away with a draw in the game, despite both of them being in desperate need to pick up three points from the match.
Wenger then went on to add: "[It was a] strange game," he added.
"They decided to lock the game up and catch us on the break. On that front, especially with the two wide players, they tried to get over the top of our full-backs an waited for us in their half of the pitch."
"We were not quick enough with our passing today to open them up. Therefore, you always felt the game was a bit difficult. We lacked a bit of a spontaneous aspect in our game. But we still had chances to win the game, and they had zero. They had none.”
Despite the draw, Arsenal are still sitting in a comfortable position in the league and could easily stay in the third spot, unless they suffer a massive fall out.
Nonetheless, it is now up to Wenger and his men to get back to their winning ways, as they see out the rest of the season in style.
