Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to confirm his interest in signing Lukas Podolski, as he believes the striker can give the team just what they need.
Over the course of the last couple of months, the Gunners have been linked with a move for German international and Koln forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896.
Many believed that the striker had already agreed terms with the North London club and was on the brink of making the switch.
However, it was later revealed that no deal had actually taken place between the two teams and the player was yet to agree to terms with Arsenal.
Wenger has now gone on to confirm that he is looking to make a move for the German international, while admitting that the forward could prove to be just the player that the team need.
The Frenchman, when talking about the forward and the potential impact that he could have on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 is quoted to have said: "Yes [we want Podolski], because we want to add some offensive strikers, because many times people say we rely too much on Van Persie,
which is true, but if we can find world-class players, we will [challenge for the title]."
The manager then went on to reveal that two long periods of injuries proved to be the crushing blow in Arsenal’s hunt for silverware this season and hopes for the team to avoid such issues in the future.
"I just felt we had two weak periods in the season and you can only afford one," he continued.

"I knew when we were 17th [in August] that we cannot afford any weak periods anymore, so when that happened in January it was very difficult.

"If you look at the circumstances of the [second] blip, it was down to the fact we had no full-backs. Overall since October, since the team has gelled, we are not on too bad a run. “
The Gunners now need to continue to playing at their very best, as they look to end the season on a high.
Should the team manage to do just that, they are more than likely to sign all the players that they are currently looking to make a move for.
