Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has lashed out at his opponents, as he believes most of them try to get points against the Gunners by playing negative football.
In the Gunners last two games, the team went on to lose one, while picking up a point from the other. The team suffered a shock defeat against Wigan Athletic, followed by a draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
However, Wenger feels that the only reason for his side not winning those two games, is down to the fact that both his opponents tried to play negatively and this ended up causing his team to drop points.
When talking about the last two games, the manager is quoted to have said: “I feel that the teams came here and defended very well.”
“It makes the game difficult for us and that is what happened.”
“This week we were a bit less sharp than the weeks before but in those weeks we still finished strongly in matches.”
The French manager then went on talk about his sides win against Manchester City and admitted that it was not possible to blame the team’s poor performance on fatigue.
“Against Manchester City [we finished strongly so] you cannot say from one week to the next that you are tired.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 now need to maintain their focus, as they look to try and secure the third spot for themselves.
The team is now being chased by Newcastle United, who are sitting just three points behind the Gunners with a game in hand.
As a result, even the smallest of slip ups could see Arsenal fall out of the third spot and drop to the fourth spot in the league table.
Given how disappointing the North London club’s season has been so far, the team won’t want to end the season without a Champions League spot.
It is now going to be up to the Gunners to prove just how badly they want to be in the Champions League next season, as they look to play out the last three games of the season, with nothing less than a win in all of those games being enough for the team.
