http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that he isn’t a big fan of international breaks, as he feels that the time the players spend with the national team, tends to have very negative impacts on their performances for their club teams.
At the moment Arsenal are sitting in the eighth spot in the Premier League table, with four points separating them from the fourth spot in the league table.
However, with the team set to take on Tottenham this coming weekend, Wenger is starting to feel the pressure.
The manager feels that with so many of his players leaving to represent their national teams, they might not be at their very best when they make their return before the weekend.
When talking about the international break and the impact that it has on the club and the players, Wenger is reported to have said: “It is bad for us. I would prefer that the team stays here and prepares our next game"
"There is a risk with the players who have played our [last] three games - they play another one [in midweek], and another one [against Spurs], and after that they play against Montpellier [in the Champions League].”
"At the moment we cannot rotate too much, so it is not ideal, but we have to deal with that.”
"We have no time to train on it, because the players go away and anyway, when you play every three days you cannot practice too much.”
This season started off as a season where Arsenal could have really come out all guns blazing, as they looked to prove their worth to the league.
The North London club is now in its seventh year without having won any trophies, and that is quite poor for a team of their quality.
Wenger and his men are going to have to step up to the plate and start showing more dedication in their games.
They need to start doing this, irrelevant of whether they have to represent their national teams or not.
Should they fail to do so, then Arsenal could end up seeing out another season without winning any silverware.
