The Gunners took on Wigan on Monday night, as they looked to pick up another win. "We have to scan it tomorrow, it's too early to say tonight. But it doesn't look like a little ankle sprain. It is a serious one."
The manager then went on to blast his team over the first goal, as he believes they defended terribly and allowed their opponents to score a very easy goal.
He continued: "We defended horrendously on the first and second goal, everyone included. On top of that, we conceded the second goal with 10 men on the pitch.”
Despite the manner in which the goal was scored and the fact that his team lost, Wenger didn’t make many excuses and went on to applaud the efforts of Wigan, who were really pulling things together in the game. The manager did feel that Al Habsi should have
been shown two yellows for wasting time, but was more focused on his team getting their act together for their next match.
"I do not want to use excuses. I congratulate Wigan, they did well. But the referee has to give him a yellow card the second time he does it. Either for us, or for somebody else it's exactly the same.”
