http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to blame his team’s fatigue levels for their draw against Aston Villa this past weekend.
The North London club went on to face the Villans in the Premier League, as they looked to try and close in the gap on the top four.
However, following a rather disappointing performance, the team went on to draw their game, which sees them sit outside the Champions League zone.
Going into the game, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002, were all placed on the bench, as the manager felt they deserved a much needed rest.
This decision to rest the players didn’t really work to the team’s advantage as the North London club looked to be all over the place in their game.
The team failed to really get a grip on things, and their attacking in the final third seemed to be quite off to say the least.
The Gunners boss feels that the team did the best that they could, especially when you consider the fatigue levels which have impacted the team this week.
"No [complaints] because we tried, we had the right attitude, we lacked a little bit of fluency and accuracy in the final third," said Wenger in a post game interview.
"We couldn't create chances and when we had the opportunity to be dangerous, we didn't use them well. But I think it's down to fatigue and we had not completely recovered from Wednesday night."
Despite Arsenal seemingly being solid on the pitch, the team has failed to score as many goals as they would have hoped to. The team seems to forget the basics to operating in the oppositions half when playing away games, and this is something that seems
to baffle the manager.
"It's true. I don't really know why because we have a very offensive team, we have three offensive players in midfield. We have three strikers basically," he continued.
"It can happen, it happened before and, in the Premier League, it's different away from home."
Nonetheless, Wenger is bound to try and get his team to improve their performances and move in the upward direction from here on.
