Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to praise http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742, as he feels the defender lived up to his reputation in the game against Manchester City.
The centre back came in to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002, who had to sit the game out due to a flu. However, Koscielny repaid the manager’s faith in him as he went on to score a late goal in the game, which helped the Gunners draw the game against the Manchester
based club.
The match kicked off with City taking the lead as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 went on to score the opening goal of the game. However, late in the second half, Koscielny went on to find the ball in his feet after a corner kick was taken, and the defender whipped in a
rising shot, which sailed into the roof of the net.
Following the game, Wenger has gone on to claim that the French international is one of the best defender around, and he feels rather ecstatic b the fact that his side have a number of top class defenders.
"I have no worries for Koscielny, he is top class defender," said Wenger.
"We have three top class central defenders and we will rotate them a little bit. It's very, very difficult to put any hierarchy in there but all of the three are top class."
Wenger then went on to reveal that he was happy that his side didn’t lose, but he felt that given the way they played in the game, they could have gone on and claimed all three points from the game.
"We are on one side happy because we didn't lose the game after being 1-0 down,” he added.
"On the other side, [we are] a bit frustrated because we felt we had the chances early on and then late in the game, [and] that's when you want to take them. But overall you can see that we are a strong team."
Nonetheless, with the team now having played one of their top rivals this season, they seem to be on course to actually contesting for the title this season.
It is now up to Wenger to ensure the team keeps playing at its best, or things could go downhill for the team.
