http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that he is delighted with the fact that his team has managed to secure qualification for the knock out stages of the Champions League, for another season on the run. At the same time, Wenger is also happy
with the fact that his side were able to overcome Montpellier with ease.
The Match saw Arsenal beat the reigning French Champions by two goals to nil, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 firing in the goals for the North London club.
The game kicked off in a rather disappointing manner for the team, but with the club being able to score those two goals.
"We needed two good results, and we got the two tonight, so of course we are happy," Wenger told reporters.
"It was a question of being patient and waiting for our chances, which we did.”
"We didn't find our way in the first half. In the end it went well for us."
The manager was also quite happy with Wilshere proving that he had regained his fitness and was now more than capable of performing for ninety minutes on a stretch.
Wenger added: "I am pleased for Wilshere because it is great to see him getting stronger and stronger."Against Tottenham he lacked petrol after 60 minutes. Tonight I did not feel that. I believe he is not to be obsessed by [scoring goals]. He has to be a
complete midfielder."
The Gunners boss also saved special praise for Olivier Giroud, who despite not having scored against his former team, was able to get two assists in the game, which led to both the goals being scored in the match.
He added: "You know he [Giroud] will fight for the team. His performance is many times very decisive.”
Despite the win, Arsenal can’t go into the last game of the group stages without any pressure on their shoulders. The team will need to win the game to try and end up as group leaders at the end of the round, which will help them get paired with a slightly
weaker team.
