http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s manager, Arsene Wenger believes that it is a great achievement for his side to finish in the top four, given how their season has gone this time around.
The Gunners started off the Premier League season on the back foot, with the team failing to make an impact at the start of the season.
Wenger’s team failed to get things going early on and only managed to secure seven points from their opening seven games.
Early on in the season, many believed that it would be close to impossible for the Gunners to go on and try and break into the top four.
However, with just six games to go, the team is sitting in the third spot and looking stronger than they ever have.
A couple of months ago, Arsenal were trailing Tottenham Hotspur by ten points, but a dramatic improvement in the team’s form now sees them sitting on top of Tottenham.
The North London club also went on to beat Manchester City this past weekend, in a game that saw the team dominate their opponents.
Wenger, when talking about his team and just how brilliant they have been in recent weeks, while highlighting his delight of finishing in the top four is quoted to have said: "It [a top-four finish] is very important to us"
"It has a big meaning for us because we want to play at the top but also because of where we came from, that would be a great achievement for us.”
"This team has gone through difficult times but we know that we belong with the best and we have shown that again on Sunday. That is why it is important that we continue to go in a strong way."
Nonetheless, despite the team having performed exceptionally in recent weeks, they still have to go on and continue playing at the best of their abilities, if they are to maintain their stay in the third spot in the league.
The team still has to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and has a couple of other tricky fixtures coming up in the near future. As a result, the Gunners can’t afford to suffer any slip ups at this point in t he season.
