Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to insist that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 deserved to see red during his sides game with City last night.
During the game between the two teams, the Italian forward was caught up in the wrong positions on a number of occasions.
The forward went on to have a number of interactions with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148, which many believed should have earned him a number of yellow cards.
At the same time, the striker went in with his studs up on Alex Song and very nearly snapped the midfielder’s leg. However, the referee managed to miss the incident altogether and didn’t even award a free kick for the stomp.
Balotelli seemed to be taking a rather calmer route in the second half, but following another lunge on Sagna, saw him earn his second yellow card of the game and hence lead to him ending the game much earlier then he would have hoped for.
When talking About Balotelli and his actions during the game, Wenger is quoted to have said: "If the referee had a television it would have been a red card.”
"He was on the fringe in many situations. He flirted with orange [between yellow and red cards] a few times. In the end he got the second yellow card.”
"I don’t know him too much and I don’t want to interfere with Mancini’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. Everybody has his own case in his own camp and I have enough work.”
"I thought it was a bad tackle [on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 at first glance]. I thought maybe it was a red but I didn't know until I saw it."
The Gunners boss then went on to applaud Mikel Arteta’s goal, since he believed it was a very well struck shot and that it left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 with very little, to no chance of keeping the ball out.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 now managing to pick up a number of wins in their last couple of games, the team has the momentum that they need to see out the rest of the season on a high and ensure a spot in the Champions League for the coming season.
