In the game against the Toffees, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 went on to score a very early goal for the Gunners.
Many believes that Arsenal would go on and crumble in the game later on, but the team managed to hold things together and saw out the entire game without scoring or conceding a goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in the game, but the lines man wrongly went on to rule it to be offside.
As a result, the North London club went on to pick up all three points from the game and moved into the third spot in the league table, with one point separating them from Tottenham, who are sitting in the fourth spot.
When talking about the game, the Gunners boss is quoted to have said:  “I thought that if we scored the second goal then maybe, we could [have] given a psychological blow to Everton. We had a brilliant start and slowly Everton came back into the game after about 30 minutes, we could feel that in the last 15 minutes of the first-half.”
“Second-half, for the most we did hang on, until the last 15 minutes we started to create chances again, but it was all Everton. We were resilient, focused with a great desire to defend and our defence played very well tonight.”
“We refused to play a little bit because we just wanted to keep the score and credit to Everton they played very well in the second-half.”
Over the last couple of weeks, Arsenal have gone on to prove that they can recover from just about any situation possible and that they have the mentality to bounce back when needed.
However, the team took far too long to develop this resilient attitude, but should they be able to maintain it over the course of the coming season, they could easily be in line to win a trophy or two.
