Arsene Wenger puts an end to the “Fabregas Saga”

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that the assumptions about the captain and star midfielder of the team, Cesc Fabregas moving to the Spanish club Barcelona must come to an end. The ever sanguine coach Wenger told it was apparent now that the deal with the Catalans will not occur so everyone “has to stop” thinking about it now.
The Gunners manager confidently relayed that the as he had predicted the stay of Fabregas with Arsenal it had happened. The North Londoners are in desperate need of the ace midfielder if they want to continue ahead successfully in the present season.
They have already opened their campaign with a magnificent 4-0 win over Barnet. Fabregas of course is not participating in the current matches or practices after he has been handed extra leaves because of the World Cup victory.
Spain returned back home with the glory of trophy to an exuberant Madrid. Fabregas assisted in the winning goal scored by Andres Iniesta and last season he had 19 goals and 19 assists in 36 appearances.
Fabregas still has 5 years left in his deal with Arsenal though he desires to make a transfer to Barcelona. Barcelona have been offering various deals ranging from 30 million pounds to 50 million pounds but Wenger has emphatically stated that there would be no talks unless a deal of 60 million pounds is put on the table.
Recently Arsenal put up a last 40 million pounds offer and in respond to that the Wenger exclaimed that he refused to the deal and hopes that it will be the end of the deal. Fabregas left Barca when he was just 16 years old as he reasoned that he did not get enough chances to shine. At Arsenal the young prodigy was brought up by Wenger after which the club saw its “Invincible”.
The new President of Barcelona Sandro Rosell commented that he was embarrassed of the incident in which Fabregas was forcefully made to wear a Barca shirt by the Catalan team.
Wenger expressed that he hoped the “Fabregas saga” would come to an end finally. He said that the whole issue had brought up a lot of unnecessary talk and he would grateful if the story seized its end now.
Wenger stated, “Cesc is our captain, he is so important to us and we want to keep him, that is why we were not listening to any offers. It was not a problem of money, just the desire to keep him at the club. We always had a consistent attitude and were always reluctant to talk about Cesc's departure”.
The age old stubborn French manager added, “It is very important we give the impression that just because somebody wants a player from us, we do not just give in”. Now it seems that Fabregas will stay another season to run around Arsenal. This is certainly going to be an interesting issue to bring up with the fans who had started an anti hate campaign against the Spanish giants Barca. Wenger however instigated, “We have shown our love and care for Cesc since the start. I believe Cesc loves the club, has shown his attachment to the club many times and I am very confident the story will end there. We want Cesc to be part of our club next year, and that is it”.
Just recently Arsenal have signed in a couple of new names. They were in desperate need of a new striker and a couple of new defenders. Rumour has it that Wenger is sitting on a treasure chest of 50 million pounds that he has obtained for giving out a consistent performance from the club. It is said that the recently acquired Laurent Koscielny and Marouane Chamakh will have an impressive impact on Arsenal this season. Arsenal is also looking for a goal keeper and it seems that the Manchester City goal keeper Joe Hart will play for the North Londoners before the start of the season.
Advocating his stance on the Wenger issue, the manager admitted, “I don't think anyone can question my own commitment to this club. The important thing is the feeling that I have, that I do well enough for the club”.
