http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, when the Gunners face off against Manchester United this weekend.
This match will be the first time that Van Persie will play against his former team, having left Arsenal for United at the start of the current season.
The Dutchman’s move is regarded by many as being one of the most inexplicable things ever done, which is why they refuse to accept any explanation that the player gives to justify his move.
Despite that fact, Wenger is hoping for the fans to try and avoid being negative towards the player in the upcoming game, since he feels the striker served his purpose during his years at the Emirates, which is what the Arsenal supporters need to keep in
mind.
"I hope it is a respectful reception because he has played for us for eight years, he has done very well for us. You want him to be respected," Wenger told reporters.
"We campaign against discrimination, it was still the case last week so why should it not be the case this week?”
"I don't know what the fans will do, I think he will get the reception I hope for."
Van Persie went on to spend eight years at Arsenal, before the twenty nine year old striker went on to make the rather shocking move to Manchester United.
Prior to his move to United, it was believed that he would be leaving Arsenal to move out of the Premier League. This is mainly because no one imagined the player would actually play for Arsenal’s competitors in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
However, with the twenty nine year old striker having already scored nine goals in his first twelve games at Old Trafford, it seems like he has taken his goal scoring form into his new club.
This is something the team needs to keep in mind going into their upcoming game, since they don’t want to be too focused on trying to figure out just why they are playing against a player who was with them for eight years. Instead, the team should use all
the insight they have on him and exploit it in the game to get the upper hand in this lethal fixture.
