Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has urged his team to look ahead and focus on the upcoming game against Tottenham Hotspur, while trying to overlook the defeats that they suffered in the last couple of days.
Arsene Wenger saw his side fallout of the FA Cup, after the team went on to lose by two goals to nil at the hands of Sunderland. Despite going on and producing a rather decent display in the game, the Gunners just couldn’t pick up the win.
When talking about the game and his team’s rather difficult schedule in recent weeks, the Gunners boss is quoted to have said: “I feel we had a committed performance and we gave absolutely everything that was left in our legs. It was a very difficult game”
He then claimed that the team needed to focus on the rest of the season and avoid thinking about the defeats that had already taken place.
“Let’s focus on our next game to finish well in the Premier League and fight as well even if it is a small possibility in the Champions League to give us a little chance and we have a big game next Saturday [against Spurs].”
Wenger has also urged his team to dig deep and prove just how strong they are at the core. The manager believes that the team still has the potential and capabilities to go on and enjoy a very decent end to the season, but in order for that to happen, the
Gunners are going to have to show their determination and focus.
The Gunners boss then ended by stating: “I believe that the moment it is better to let people talk and criticise, analyse and destroy and on our side it is important we show internal strength and resilience and face all that and come out with a good performance
in our next game.”
It is now up to the Gunners to prove their worth and show just what they are capable of, or they could see their season get a whole lot worse over the coming weeks. With the team certain to not win any trophies this season, it is now up to them to try and
finish in the top four.
