Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to reveal that he is going to be looking to keep hold of Robin Van Persie at all costs, since he feels the player can still deliver for the club.
At the moment, Van Persie has still not put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club and this has seen him get linked with a move out of the Emirates.
So far, Manchester City and Juventus seem to be the favourites to land the Dutch international, as both the teams look to add to their fire power.
Last season, the Gunners captain went on to score a very impressive thirty goals in thirty eight games for the club and this caused a lot of teams to start looking in his direction.
Despite their being a lot of confusion over what the forward plans on doing, Wenger is confident that he will stick around at the club. The Gunners boss feels that Van Persie will repay the club and the fans for the faith they have shown him and end up retiring at the Emirates.
Wenger went on to claim: "We want to keep http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 at all costs, because we depend on him offensively.”
"I have always supported him even in the hardest times, and I hope he will end his career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429."
The manager also talked about his newest signing, as he revealed that Olivier Giroud could prove to be just what the team needs up front, in order to enhance and boost their attacks.
"I have known Olivier Giroud for some time,” Wenger continued.
"The first time I saw him, I found he had something intelligent and dangerous. I always said he could score goals and assist his partners.”
"Our game is based on cooperation between the players in the offensive phase and he will integrate easily. I don't like simple goalscorers, they must also add to the collective.”
"He is good in the air which is rare. He is quite complete and has a great room for improvement."
Nonetheless, it is now going to be up to anybody to guess and see whether Giroud and Van Persie get to play together in the future.
