Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to state that he will go on and maintain the tradition of giving the League winning club the guard of honour in their following game. This is despite the fact that Robin Van
Persie might be amongst the squad that goes on to play against the Gunners in the upcoming game.
United went on to win their twentieth league title this past Monday, following a very impressive three goals to nil win over Aston Villa. The win saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 go on and score a first half hat trick.
The win now sees United go on and head into their next game with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 as the team that is set to receive the guard of honour. The interesting thing here is the fact that RVP, who went on to move from Arsenal to Manchester United
will most probably be amongst the United side which takes to the pitch, meaning that he might end up receiving the guard of honour as well.
It was believed that given the situation and the circumstances, the Gunners might end up not fulfilling the tradition, but that is not the case, as the Gunners boss has stated that the team will honour the tradition and will go
on and give the Red Devils the respect that they deserve for winning the league title.
"I want the traditions of English football to be respected," the Frenchman told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

"My relationship with Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson is respectful."
Wenger then went on to talk about Van Persie, as he admitted that the Dutch international had to wait a very long time to go on and win the league title. He also insisted that even though the player went on the league title, he
would still remember all the good times that he had at the North London club, since that is something he just can’t forget.
"I think Arsenal had a positive impact on the life and career of Robin van Persie," he added. "You will always miss a big player but now we are stabilised.
