Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has insisted that he would not go on and swap places with Manchester City if given the chance, since he feels that his team are still in a better position on the whole.
The manager says this while keeping all footballing competitions in mind and not just the Premier League, as the Gunners boss feels there is a whole lot more to football, than being in the top two of your league at this point in the season.
City have currently been knocked out of the Champions League, and despite the team having a twelve point lead on Arsenal, Wenger is still hopeful that all in not lost just yet.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 still in the Champions League, and with over twenty games left to play in the league, Wenger is confident that his side will be able to catch up with the City squad.
"I wouldn't swap places with Manchester City," Wenger told reporters. "We have 23 games to come back on them in the league, but in the Champions League you're in or out.”
The manager then went on to take the opportunity to dismiss all the rumours that were surrounding the team’s loss to Swansea this past weekend.
It was previously believed that the team’s assistant manager, Steve Bould went on to give the players a rather aggressive speech following the game, where he blamed them for not producing performances that were required of them.
However, Wenger revealed that no such thing took place, but no one was really happy after the game given the fact that the team went on to lose.
"Nothing really happened after the [Swansea] game," he added. "But the players were not happy. You want them to dance? This group of players is highly motivated and if they don't win, they are upset.”
"I'm more worried if I see players in the shower who laugh after they have lost. The most important thing is to win the next game and show how good you are."
The Gunners now need to get their act together and start producing results, or they could end up well out of the top four this season.
