Went to get a buggy in wal-mart but set off alarm, I'm embarassed STILL!?

First of all, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong topic or section. Also: I'm 15..so I guess I could be easily embarassed and that's the problem..

Well, I'm not exactly sure why, I guess because it's the first "public display of stupidity" I've done in a long while, but basically:

I was shopping with my mom, and then she tells me to grab a buggy, well, I forget that I have items in my hands, a couple of video games and some fruit, and I accidentally walk into the entrance area of Wal-Mart, thinking the buggies are in there...well, they're not. So I walk back out and BAM there goes the alarm, I didn't think much of it because I was so intent on finding the buggies, and there they are sitting in front of the sliding doors. I try to grab one, then some lady working at the entrance stops me and says "are you going to pay for those..." like not even in a question type of way, and I say "yeah, sorry, I'm trying to get a buggy", and I try to pull it out of the line..which it of course is stuck... So, I see a vacant buggy by the girl, and I walk over and she asks again "well, are you going to pay for it..?" and I said in a relatively impatient way: "yes.. I just need a buggy..." and then another women turns and stares at me! So I calmly (with a red face) ask if I could borrow the buggy, which, OF COURSE, to make the situation even worse for me, she doesn't say ANYTHING! And then the other girl working at walmart just stares at me to, and I ask again to see if I could have the buggy, which at this point my adrenaline is going.. and they STILL don't answer, I felt like beating both of them to.. well, nevermind. So, I take the buggy and go back to my mom and talk to her about it...

But basically, should I be feeling embarrassed out this?? Or am I just overreacting and the two women were the ones being stupid (I have NEVER seen such immaturity from adults!!)? I guess it's looking like an idiot (and thief) and not getting my questions answered that got me in such a horrible mood all day. I appreciate any help!

  1. don't worry MUCH MUCH more embarssing things and stupid people will enter your life as you grow older. just simply store it as a good story you can tell your friends in the years to come.

  2. Oh a buggy is a shopping cart, I wasnt sure what a buggy was LOL. yeah thats embarasing, but i have seen worse, so dont beat yourself up about it! LOL

  3. G'Day. Don't worry about it. In Australia they are called trolleys.

  4. I've never heard a shopping card be called a buggy

  5. Im sorry that happened! Ive had a moment like that. I was at target and i stupidly took a sharp turn of an isle and knocked down one of shelve thingys they put at the end of the isles! It was an intire thing of popcorn and they all fell. I didnt see it, i was looking the other way. Then an employee came by to pick them up and give me a horrible glare. But thats not the bad part. Then I backed up to let the employee do his job, and i backed into an huge thing of flowers trying to be sold [you know how they have those flower things... huge multiple bouquets.] and i knocked over like 4-6 plastic things of flowers and all the flowers fell and the water spilt everywhere! And now my heart was pounding and im sure my face was as red as an apple.. and my pants were wet because of the flowers and i had orange pollen on a white shirt.  Then this freaking stupid lady on her cell phone just walks by like nothing happened, slipped on the water and threatens to sue target... and then i just walked away and found my dad. My dad was like "Wheres the chips?" and i was like "c**p i forgot... its ok we can live without silly potato chips hehe..." And im sure my face was still really red cuz my dad looked at me funny [and my pants were wet and suddenly my white shirt was orange.. my dads not very observant xD].

Anyway my point is I felt embarrassed about for like weeks and my parents still dunno why i refuse to go to target.. ( xD ) but now i laugh about it and like to tell people. lol. Eventually you'll laugh about it. But those women were really immature to act like that. If you ever see them again just give them bad looks or something :]

    hope this helps!

[sometimes hearing somebody elses embarrassing story helps :] it helps me]

  6. I'm sorry that happened to you! I always feel so embarassed when I do things like that, long after they happened. It's normal to feel embarassed, and they treated you unfairly. Why couldn't they just answer your questions?  They were the ones in the wrong to an extent...you forgot about the alarm, but they were also the ones being rude.  I can understand your embarassment completely but remind yourself that you will probably never see those women again, you paid for the items, and the adults were acting like idiots. :)

  7. everyone has a brain f**t now and then.  don't worry about it they will never remember you......it would be worse if you had to see those people every day.
