We are gettting VA home loan and have had many problems with this mortgage broker. We are too far from closing to switch lenders.I have copies of all the paper work she has sent me. I had to re-send her all our information. Including SS# and driver's licenses that I gave to her previous. She said she didn't have them and her asst. never made copies of it.

So basically she lost all of our information with all of our important information on it. I asked her for a copy of everything so when she lost it again I could just give her that copy of it. She refused. Can she do that? Also what can I do legally if, due to her irresponsibility ,our identity gets stolen? Is this something that can be reported to BBB?

  1. Yes, she has the right to tell you no.  Secondly, did you physically give her the papers or did you fax it?  Honestly, it was a clerical mistake!  Things do happen.  Lastly, you would have to PHYSICALLY prove that the items that were "lost" were from this location if your identity was stolen.  I would not contact the BBB.

If you are that unsatisfied, it should NOT matter how far into you are.  To me, if you stick with them, then you must not be that unhappy with them!
