Went to the hospital today and...?

Question

It's 9 days before my expected period,

and at the hospital today they did a urine pregnancy test,

and it came back negative.

Is there still a chance I'm pregnant?

9 days before your period is due? That is definitely too early for a HPT, some are designed to pick up low HCG as little as 5 days before due period, but are not fully accurate until a day or week of period being late, so yes there is still a possibility that you are pregnant as it's too early to tell. (as long as you had intercourse around ovulation anyway)

Definitely. I  was told once that the urine tests in the hospital are sometimes no better than a HPT.  Nine days before your period is very early, so I would wait it out and see.  Test again a couple days before or on the day to find out.

Theres still a chance. Its still really early to get a positve with urine. It would have been more accurate if they did a blood test. My doc said the blood test can detect pregnancy about 10 days after ovulation.

Wait a little longer and test again. And dont waste time going to the doc to get a urine test. They have the same accuracy as an hpt.

It may have been too early! Wait another week or so and take an HPT. If you do not get your period and you're getting negative tests then go and ask for a blood test.

Yeah. You can always have a false negative, especially when taken too early. I would try another test or a blood test to be sure. Its hard to get a false negative with a blood test.

I think its too early as well.  If you don't start and still get -'s get blood work done.  I am going to get mine tomorrow if I don't start by morning.  With my first daughter I didn't show Positive on a urine test even at 2 weeks past when I was supposed to start my period.  Blood work was the only thing that proved I was in fact pregnant.  It actually isn't as uncommon as one would think as several of my friends have had to have that blood work to show the pregnancy was there.  

Best of luck to you! I see a frowny face but you are still early into the game here. Don't give up hope just yet!  I would wait until about 3-4 days before your expected period to try and retest again at home.  Try a First Response early test as I hear they are the best for detecting HCG early on.
