Wentworth to do well in Sky Bet Mobile Convivial Maiden Stakes
Pure Excellence set to produce shocking result in Tyregiant.com Stakes (Nursery)
Richard Hannon’s 2-year-old speedy colt, Wentworth, showed plenty of promise on his debut, when finishing sixth in the Nat West Ahead For Business EBF Maiden Stakes at Goodwood earlier this month.
His performance was solid enough to believe that he can come up with a lot better effort. So, one should not ignore his obvious chances in the class 2 Sky Bet Mobile Convivial Maiden Stakes, to be held at York on Friday, August 24, 2012. The 7-furlong meeting
is going to be kicked off at 16:15 GMT.
Wentworth was under tremendous amount of pressure on his debut, but he kept his nerves calm all the way through. Although he never troubled the leaders, it was a satisfying performance.
Bright Strike also made a fascinating debut at Newmarket last month. So, he is going to be a major threat to Wentworth. Another consistent runner is Brave Command, who was runner-up on his first two trips. However, stepping up to this level will be a huge
concern for his supporters.
Bright Strike and Brave Command are surely two powerful runners, but it will be very hard for the pair to outpace Wentworth, who has shaped well following a decent debut.
Another class 2 event at York is Tyregiant.com Stakes (Nursery), getting underway at 16:50 GMT. In pursue of £16,173, 19 runners will compete over six furlongs.
Burning Blaze, Majestic Moon and Kamchatka made plenty of impression last time, but the preference is for Pure Excellence, who is in fine fettle after a couple of brilliant efforts.
