The Die Werderaner outfit has surprisingly been criticised, with the club faithful working together to make sure that Bremen does not sign a contract with the controversial, Wiesenhof.
Werder Bremen have been overwhelmed by the resentment shown by their discontented followers over the contentious new official sponsor, ahead of the upcoming campaign. The supporters are ardently against the idea of a future deal
with the chicken meat company Wiesenhof.
This is because of the bad repute the organisation gained over their supposed unkindly behaviour of domestic chickens. A huge mob of supporters and animal welfare activists have voiced their concerns and are against the possible
agreement between the Bundesliga club and the organisation.
The protesters have also taken the initiative and set in motion 9000 Facebook protest groups to show their dislike of the potential contract. In regard to this opposition over the River Islanders business, the team has issued a
defence of their operations and suggested that nothing has been finalised yet.
The Bundesliga side stated that they are aware of the concerns of the fans and are genuinely taking that into account in their future decision making policies.
"Of course we've seen all the statements you've made, and we read them thoroughly," the club official was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Weserstadion outfit further revealed that they have not decided and are still fretting over the selection of their new major sponsor. Bremen official claimed that they will come to a decision, with the help of their marketing
compatriot, INFRONT.
Bremen have shortlisted two companies and will sign the contract with the organisation that is in compliance with the club’s objectives and is good for them in the long run.
"But we want to stress that no final decision has been made yet about our new main sponsor. Together with our marketing partner INFRONT, we're in final talks with two companies and will choose the one which suits Werder best and
is the best choice for the club," the administrator finally concluded.
The German team is not new to this sort of controversy, as the former sponsors Kik and Citibank were also not popular with the club followers.
