Werder Bremen goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108 ready for VL Wolfsburg move – Bundesliga news
Werder Bremen goalkeeper, Tim Wiese, has revealed interest to join the former Bundesliga champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881, during the summer. The shot-stopper felt honoured at being linked with this move and was looking forward to shake hands with Wolfsburg manager,
Felix Magath, prior to the start of the 2011/12 season.
It was earlier reported that Die Wolfe would be getting rid of their current goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Benaglio-c11085, due to his poor run of form last season. The 27-year-old was heavily criticized for his terrible goalkeeping, which has forced the club officials to
look for alternatives. Since then, Wolfsburg have continued their search for a goalie, putting Benaglio’s place in doubt for the next campaign.
Wiese, on the other hand expressed, delight at his possible summer move and urged the Bremen officials to make this transfer possible. The 29-year-old has denied accusations of holding talks with the Wolfsburg team officials. The former Kaiserslautern man
enthused that he never met anyone belonging to the Volkswagen Arena but his agent, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roger-c31516 Wittmann, did meet the officials earlier in April.
In an interview to a local website, the player told, "If Wolfsburg make an offer, we will need to talk about it. It was a meeting with my agent, but not me."
Magath also wanted Wiese in his ranks during the summer as a cover for the struggling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058. He, though, assured the 27-year-old of his first team place from the next season onwards but warned the player of his lacklustre form.
The shot-stopper joined the River Islanders in 2005 and has managed 164 Bundesliga appearances until now. Wiese also spent three years as a Kaiserslautern player and summed up 65 league appearances for the club. He made his international debut in 2006 and
has three caps to his name so far.
Werder Bremen will get their 2011/12 campaign underway on Saturday, August 6, against FC Kaiserslautern at Weserstadion.
