Werder Bremen goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108 wants to leave the club as a free agent – Bundesliga news
Werder Bremen goalkeeper, Tim Wiese, has revealed desire to stay at the club for the next season. He was disappointed after knowing that the club doesn’t have enough finances to extend his deal. The player mentioned that he would certainly move out of the
club as a free agent possibly in favour of any other Bundesliga side once his contract expires.
Wiese enthused that he would honour his contract by staying at Bremen for the next campaign. Tim earlier also expressed anger at the club officials who announced against the extension of the goalie’s contract alongside the defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680, and
made the news public. This step was heavily criticized by both the players. Tim added that all his focus is pinned upon the current training sessions as all the clubs are gearing up for the start of the new campaign.
The 29-year-old told that Bremen officials forced him to take this decision after showing their reluctance in extending his stay at Weserstadion. He also admitted about the VfL Wolfsburg’s interest in his services but wanted to continue in Bremen colours
until his contract expires. In an interview to a local website, the shot-stopper told, "It looks like I will leave next year. I would indeed like to stay here. I have thought about that. It's just sad that the club lacks the money to extend my deal."
Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, on the other hand told that the club have continuously been monitoring Wiese’s progress and expressed desire to sign the German international for the upcoming season. He also claimed that Wolfsburg would continue with their
struggle in order to land the 29-year-old at the Volkswagen Arena.
Wiese tied knots with the River Islanders in 2005 and has summed up 164 Bundesliga appearances until now for the club. He also previously represented the likes of FC Kaiserslautern and Fortuna Koln. The shot-stopper made his German debut in 2006 and has
three international caps to his name so far.
Werder Bremen will take on Kaiserslautern in their opening game of the new campaign on Saturday, August 6 at the Wesertadion.
