Club general manager Klaus Allofs claimed that the Bundesliga club is looking to sign an experienced forward that can bolster their striking options and improve their league standing.

La Liga side the previous year.

The frontman is surplus to requirements for City as they already have the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 and Edin Dzeko. Therefore, he will not be needed for the next season and will be
transferred ahead of the new campaign.
Weserstadion outfit is also interested in Wolfsburg hit man Srdan Lakic, who has a year left on his current contract and is not in the club’s plans. Allofs has confirmed that they will add a quality striker to their squad but is
hesitant in naming that player
"There is definitely one striker we are looking at. It's an experienced striker, one that has already shown his qualities,” Allofs added.
The manager insisted that they will sign a good forward and will not go for an unproven youngster. The club’s ambition is to make a better team available for next year.
"We would not benefit if we just add one more striker for the sake of it. We need a good one that makes us a better team. We do not need an 18-year-old. We have enough youngsters in the squad," he concluded.
Werder Bremen finished ninth in the Bundesliga rankings and will be looking to get better with the new additions.
