Werder Bremen’s Klaus Allofs admits http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Pizarro-c9324 can leave the club
Werder Bremen Sporting Director Klaus Allofs has admitted that Claudio Pizarro has an ‘agreement to leave’ in his contract. He claimed that the club can sell the player, according to the clause, only if a suitable offer comes in
the transfer window. He insisted that the striker will surely attract many offers in the winter transfer window after the form he has been but it will be up to the club to sell him or not.
The Peruvian international has had a sensational start to the season and is currently the second highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga so far with 11 goals in the 11 games he has played. He is only behind Bayern Munich’s Mario
Gomez who has 13 to his name.
The club’s Sporting Director Klaus Allofs admitted that there is a clause in Pizarro’s contract which states that he can leave the club under extraordinary circumstances. The agreement refers to a situation if the club is relegated
or a very good offer comes in. The chief admitted that the striker could be on his way if another club comes in with a brilliant offer and Bremen accept it.
“If there is an extraordinary situation, then he does have the chance to end his time in Bremen,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, Allofs insisted that currently there is no such situation as the club is doing very well in the league and there are no offers for the player. He added that the club cannot afford to let Pizarro go at this stage as he
is a very important player and has played a huge role in bringing the side back to where it stands now.
“There is a kind of friendly agreement between us, but we definitely want him to stay. And he also cherishes what he has got here in Bremen,” he concluded.
Claudio Pizarro has so far scored 120 goals in the 201 appearances he has made for Werder Bremen and holds the record for the highest goals for a foreign player in the Bundesliga. The player has also found the net 15 times in 60
international appearances.
