Human. All the deliberately mummified remains found in the country have been human. Given cats, bulls, birds and such were preserved as offerings. However, no aliens and no alien technology has turned up.

The crux of this question might be: "Could ancient people have built the pyramids? If not, then they "had to" have had help from aliens."

Back in the 1960s Erich von Däniken wrote a series of books attempting to prove that aliens had visit earth in the past, and had taught humans much of their civilization. He's up to 10 books now, clearing this is an idea that sells.

Von Daniken started with the premise and then added evidence to fit it. Much of this evidence was in the form of carvings, myths and items that have a mundane explanation. Von Daniken has retracted some of these claims and , while errors have been pointed out, has left them in his book. As example a photo of a 'spacecraft hanger" is less then a dozen feet in size.

"One of von Daniken’s favorite ploys is to give a “gadget” explanation for everything in a selected myth. This interpretation is always based on our own present technology and not the hypothetical super advanced technology of extraterrestrial space travelers. Thus, the Ark of the Covenant was a radio transmitter/receiver (or a nuclear reactor). Aladdin’s lamp was also a radio. Sodom and Gomorrah were devastated by a nuclear explosion. Ezekiel’s wheel was a helicopter. "

Egypt is a nation with a long history. It has been ruled by it's own people and by foreign conquers. They've all been human. It's monuments are impressive but nothing that required anti-gravity or aliens to build. What's lacking with von Daniken's claims is evidence. A nice crashed space craft would be a great start.

DNA tests on the mummies show they were..... human.

Although, not beautiful ebony skinned Nubian Pharaohs as Afro-centrists would have you believe. They were a right old mix of Semitic (Arab and Jewish), Caucasian (mostly Berber) and some Nubian (Northern Sudan now). Anthropologists have had a good look at the bones of ancient Egyptians and modern ones, and they look like the same ethnic group. The Nubians invaded at one point, but mostly Egyptians were not black African.

Having said that, some of them do have a very funny skull shape, and we're not sure why. Also, two now Y chromosome lineages appear out of nowhere in the middle East (I&J), so I'm not ruling out Atlanteans pretending to be gods.

They are humans, of course. Its just that there technology was more advanced than compared to other human civilization at that time. So you can consider them as advanced humans.

Human.  all of the mummies that have been found have been perfectly human.  Also, we have excellent  ideas about how they went about their engineering.

Believe it or not kiddies, this is a valid question. The answer is that they were a hy-brid of extra-terrestrials and this practice was not unique with the Egyptians, but also of earlier societies (see; Mesopotamia's)

If they were alien, why didn't they use steel and glass architecture like we use in our modern skyscrapers? An advanced alien civilization would have been able to use the natural resources to make diesel powered tools and such. but we can see the handmade drag and tool marks on the stone.

really need to read the book "Chariots of the Gods?" it's old book from 70's i think, but sure does make you think did they get help from some kind aliens or some thing like that. book talks about that older civilizations had alien technolgy.
