  1. To the bloke above me:

Rugby union - global game with worldwide popularity

Rugby league - played by Aus, NZ, small parts of England and France. Oh, and also by the "powerhouses" of international rugby league like Papua New Gunea & Lebanon ;-)

(PS it's spelled WHERE, not were!!!)

  2. I eat sleep drink and dream rugby. I am now too old and injury prone to play at 47, but I still live it, and coach it :)

I set up my own rugby forum for people to and chat about the great game, and this month just gone, got 3.5 million page impressions. Interferes like h**l with my business though LOL

  3. It's because Rugby Union in the main is so boring..ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

LOL, I answered the question, I was giving the reasons why. Rugby IS supposed to be a ball HANDLING game. Kick & clap is hardly that is it? Hence why it is so boring.

So the skill involved in actually making passes is lost on you, the positional sense of where & how to penetrate a defence is lost to you also. Kicking is involved too for territory but the ball does not spend nearly half as much time in the field of play as it does in league.

Think you will find that League has the record for most watched spectator sport out of the 2 in a cup final anywhere in the world!! Also in the UK when has union ever had really good attendances apart from Leicester? Global coverage, well you don't get further than PNG, NZ & Aus. Plus you omitted Russia, Italy USA I could on and list all 43 countries that it has official recognition but that would mean nothing to you would it because you are blinkered away from why there are no RU questions on here. All that kicking into the stands, lots of kissing & cuddling in the rucks & mauls. Most of the game is only played with 11 men the centres & wingers hardly get a look in unless your Wales France or NZ.

It's not a particularly skillful on the ball handling front either, most forwards look like they S**t themselves when in open space without their bum chums cuddling them.

There are so many knock-ons & forward passes that get left unpenalised because otherwise it would be even more stop start than it is now.

Why don't they make the ball round then they could kick the ball further into touch....boring kicking penalties.

2 minutes to have a scrum,...sorry I mean breather, another minute to have a line out. No wonder union lads need to improve their fitness when they want to try a real sport like RUGBY LEAGUE.

In fact maybe they should just ban union altogether save on blocking the hospitals with the amount of people who flat line when watching it. FLMAO

  4. its rubbish isnt it. everytime i come to this section the last question asked was about 2 hours ago and then questions are asked once every two hours before that. does nobody like rugby?

  5. Probably out learning to spell.....

In answer to the comment below I watched a league match yesterday and all it was was one pass to the guy next to him who bashed up the middle. This continued for the entire match, needless to say I was bored. I don't think you can compare league to union anymore as it's a different game. The only thing similar is 'rugby,' Different games require different skills, for example, union players need more kicking skills while league players proabbly need to be bigger and stronger as they bash into each other. I'm sick of people constantly griping at each other over which code is better. It's up to the person's tastes, union to you is boring because of the kicks and mauls and I can understand that but to me league is boring because whenever I watch it, it's just big players sprinting into each other five times and then kicking the ball down the field.
