what did they call birthdays in medieval times? Did they even celebrate them?

  1. They didn't celebrate birthdays.  They may not even know how old they were or what year it is. They knew the feast days and the planting/harvesting days but time had an entirely different meaning for them than it does for us.  


  2. From what I've read, many medieval people didn't even know their birthdays. I think that, in those times, people were much more likely to celebrate their name days (the feast days of the saints they were named for) with food, music, dancing, drinking, etc.
