  1. Ya, it was connected to each other years ago.

The land which connects india australia and madagascar was called lemuria(which is a lost continent)

  2. Most geologists believe that no, they weren't directly connected.  Even when the land masses of the Earth were all joined together as Pangaea, Australia and Asia were not touching.

Australia was actually connected to Antarctica, and there is very, very strong geological evidence on the south coast of Australia that the two continents were once attached.  In fact, some of the rock structures in Albany, Australia can be matched almost exactly with structures on the Antarctic coast like a continental jigsaw puzzle.

You can see an animation of the most likely breakup of Pangaea here:

  3. Australia should technically be considered an Asian country, but European explorers think otherwise. Yes, they were once connected, like every other continent, known as Laurasia and Pangaea. Before that, it was known as Gondwana.

  4. they were joined before the formation of Himalayas ,and south africa was also joined to them and this joined piece was called as Gondwana land .

  5. i think no.. well, as i recall it was not discussed in geography class something like that.. but basing on some theories or belief.. probably.. not sure

  7. During the recent past ice age, perhaps there was a land bridge spanning all the Indonesian islands (Malaya, Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Lomblen, Alor, Timor ot New Guinea) and thence via Torres straits to Australia (York peninsula).

  8. Well ratan u r totally right in d past they were one continent nd due 2 earth quack they get seprated.

  9. At one time all the world's landmasses were one cont intent...Pangaea. Asia and Austrailia would have been connected then. South American and Africa were too.

  10. in the begining, all the continents were fixed to each other

then, when they got seperated, it was south america, africa and asia that were fixed, but austailia got seperated long back and drifted to the south near to the atlantic
