  1. california i say is the best state to get the good surfing done

  2. I think California is a great place where the surf is awesome. Try places near the west coast. Florida is also a good place for surfing. And Rhode Island. These places are all good places to surf because they're all near the ocean.

  3. california

  4. here in santa cruz there's steamer lane and pleasure point two of the best point breaks in california. but there are also a lot of other good places like mavericks in half moon bay, ca as well as a host of places on the north shore of oahu like pipeline and backdoor.

  5. Hawaii is obviously best. California is good in certain spots. Don't try touristy spots like Newport or Laguna. There are lame waves and you have to fight for those. I suggest Trestles in San Clemente. It IS the only stop in the mainland for the ASP tour. That's where I know, but I am from the west coast.

For a view of the best current waves try surfline.com. It will show you the best beaches, the temperature, and the wave size. Plus they have live feeds, and cover the whole US.

    Good Luck qualifying!

  6. Hawaii is probably the best place, but if you are located in the continental United States Florida and California are the best places.

  7. you can get some mad distance in hawii

  8. Hawaii

  9. Hawaii has huge swells, crowded beaches and the locals must get pretty annoyed with all the tourists.

I'd say Southern California is best. During the summer you don't need a wetsuit. The surfs usually 2-3 feet. The swells average around 5-6 feet. If your goofy footed try a beach break like Zuma. If your not then any point break is fun Topanga's great during high tide. If you're near them definitely go to Oceanside, Trestles, El Porto, Ventura, Rincon, Malibu(crowded), and my local spot, Topanga.

Northern California's colder and there are more sharks but its still nothing to worry about, unless you go to Mavericks.. which you probably shouldn't anyway.

  10. Southern California, or down into Baja Mexico.

  11. definately not kansas...

  12. Maui defenitely..awesome waves there. If not, California.

  13. If you have to ask this question on line, you will never qualify for a surfing contest.
