Were can I grow vannilla bean tree?

I live in WV with mountains and I would like to find out if vannila bean trees here ?

  1. You wouldn't have this around you unless it was growing in a greenhouse.  Vanilla comes from an orchid that grows as a vine (and very rapidly I might add, from the plants I've seen) and these are tropical plants.  The one which produces most of the vanilla for flavoring comes from Mexico/Central America, but it's grown in many tropical countries.

    If you have a greenhouse and would like to grow one, make sure to have a sturdy support you can tie this to.  One grower I know ties his to an old garden hose, then uses hooks to hang the hose from the metal frame of his greenhouse.  That way he's able to move the plant as necessary.  You can find sources of the plant by Googling "vanilla orchid for sale".
