Well I have been interested in learning how to do different kinds of jewelry and I was wondering if anyone knew a site I can learn how to work with metal clay for free and can explain what kind of material I need to work with it. Also Is there another site that can show you how to bead weave?

Thank you!!!

  1. If you're looking for metal clays like Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and Art Clay Silver which must be fired in a low-temp kiln (and some with a torch), you can find info on those clays, groups and forums, etc, on this page** of my site:

    http://glassattic.com/polymer/Characteri...

(...click on METAL CLAYS near the bottom of the list at the top of that page)

**this page is currently weird looking when viewed with Firefox 3... we're working on it though; so try to use IE instead.

P.S. My site is about polymer clay btw, and if you don't know how to use that you might want to check it out, esp. the jewelry pages... virtually any look/size/etc. of bead can be made with it, including "faux metal" ones:

    http://glassattic.com/polymer/contents.h...

(...scroll all the way down the page to browse; when you find a topic you're interested in reading about, click on the page's name from inside the alphabetical navigation bar on the left side to go there)

  2. You might start at www.firemountaingems.com.  They carry the metal clay and instruction books.  None of that is free of course, but they do have little tutorials that may give you an idea about working with the metal clay and creating your own jewelry.  They may also have instructions on the bead weaving.

    Good luck!!!
