I have the same problem! i am 14 too and every place i go they say they wont hire until me until im 16! I have been looking around and i found a couple places. I suggest maybe your public library. i know it sounds a little lame but they hire anyone to be a page(person who puts books back on the shelfs). Its easy and doesnt require alot. Also you could get a lifeguarding job. I have a few friends that do it and they get paid very well. I suggest babysitting to.

lol your in the same position i was in last year. i wanted a job so bad....but no, nobosdy hires at 14. srry man. im 15 and still tryin to find 1 im bout to fill out an app for the BK lounge. so i hope u can find one. but the only job u may be able to get is like a summer job from school. ask ur guidence counselor bout summer job's im sure he/she could find u 1. good luck!

Mowing lawns is what I am doing, but some supermarkets will take 2 14 year olds, they work small shifts though.

There aren't going to be too many opportunities for 14-16 , except for Mom & Pop stores. Established businesses and franchises are going to be more leary about liability costs, and the limit on hours youth are allowed to work.

Rules for agricultural work are somewhat more lenient. The entertainment industry is also exempt from FLSA. They always need kids to model underwear for Sears...

Your state may have allow a waiver in the form of a youth work certificate that spells out the guidelines of what occupations you can pursue.

Also check with a Volunteer  services office such as in your local hospital.

Depending on what your state/country allows [some states don't allow you to work till your 15/16] your most likely to get a job at Mcdonalds, burger king and many fast food stores.

Where I'm from you can't go into retail stores [clothes] till your 15 yet half the time I see 13 yr olds working at CITY BEACH which is a major yet very expensive surf shop ♥

Just look around and if you see jobs advertised in any shops you think you can do or allow your age then give it a go.♥
