  1. get paint.net,same thing but free


  2. Photoshop costs a lot, so getting it for free would be illegal. Try something like Paint.NET or Gimp.

  3. Take a look at GIMP the open source alternative. You can download GIMP for Windows from here http://www.gimp.org/windows/ Here also is a list of the Official GIMP Tutorials http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/
