Unfortunately, you can’t get a cheep wood chipper that works. I found that a good wood chipper needs to be heavy duty, and carbon steel blades and forged parts, as well as a heavy duty case, none of which you will find in a cheep wood chipper. You will spend more time taking apart and unjamming a cheep wood chipper than using it. Additionally, you will need to keep sharpening or replacing the blades.

My advice would be to cut down the trees, put all the branches you want chipped in a pile, and go out and rent a high quality chipper, based on the largest sized limb you need to chip. Some chippers will only handle 4 to 6 inch limbs. Others will handle 8 inch plus. The aggravation you will save yourself will be well worth the rental of a good one. In my area, a big one (trailerable) rents for about $75 for half a day.
