Everywhere I have looked online an in books on vegan eating the foods they suggests are all American brands not available in England, ''quorn'' or ''qorn'' are the main brand in supermarkets but are rubbish because they don't contain meat but contain every other animal product, and a lot of sugar. Alpro Soya does an amazing milkshake with raw sugar and Soya do you know if there is their any ice creams and chocolate bars made the same as well as other true vegan products preferable with no or natural raw sugar cane?? If I have to order online then I guess I have to but I was really hoping I wouldn’t have to especially if it’s combing from abroad

  1. Oh well never mind.

    Best eat some bacon then

  2. If you are a vegan you give up meat period. the items I have seen trying to duplicate meat have a lot of chemicals and the other products that are truly vegan are not going to taste like meat. I suggest you get out one of your recipe books and see what strikes your fancy

  3. If you are a vegan why do you want to eat anything made to emulate animal products. You just want to have your cake and eat it.

  4. You are right, Quorn is not vegan as it contains egg.

I'm surprised you are having difficulty finding vegan foods in England, where do you live?

Most high streets have a Holland & Barrett; you can buy several Redwood products there including the various Cheezly cheeses, rashers etc.

Several supermarkets sell vegan ice cream; certainly Tesco, Sainsbury and Waitrose sell Swedish Glace, which is wonderful, and some branches sell Tofutti ice cream. Waitrose sells some Redwood products including their chicken pieces; Tesco sells Cheezly.

Health food shops also have plenty of these products.

There is no need to order online to get vegan food.

  5. Nuts, potatoes, tofu, tvp, seitan, tempeh, quinoa, couscous, rices, all are vegan (should be) and should be available at many stores. Tofurky sells products in the UK at Whole Foods, I am sure others as well.

    This site should help you:

    You can also shop online:

  6. holland and barrett, www.veganstore.co.uk, your local health food shop.

Swedish glaze is a vegan icecream sold at tescos.

    www.redwoodfood.co.uk sells cheating chicken etc.

  7. Quorn is VEGAN its made form a fungus and not one animal product is in its production. where did you get the idea?.

you can make your own ice cream with vegan products but most include sweeteners and thats normal.  you saying you want to be vegan and fill your body with artificial sweeteners?

many smaller supermarkets do Vegan products including local Chinese supermarkets and especially Waitrose who do an own rage with great mushroom and wheat pate's etc.

Cauldron do a great range of Tofu based products.

Quorn are Vegan and their products are great the ready meals can contain lots of salt and sugar but ALL ready meals do!

the UK is probably the most vegan friendly country in the world so what you cant get here you're unlikley to get elsewhere. Brighotn for instance has 3 vegitarian Cafe's and 2 vegitarian/Vegan Stores.

try looking in your local area for specialist Vegitarian shops.  They say vegiatarian rather than Vegan as its better know and Vegan is a subset (stricter rules) of Vegitarianism
