Were can i look with my metal detector?

i live in el paso nere the rio grand ive been looking at parks iwth me metal detor but found nothing can anyone give suggestion on some public places i can look

Any beaches near you?  Those are great places to look.

you can go to the old gold mining caves at Oro Grande, NM. There used to be water that ran through there now its all dried up and you can find gold flakes on the bed.  Its fun and interesting.  The mining caves are abandoned and a couple are covered but not all.   Its about 20 minutes outside of El Paso if not less.  Blink and you'll miss it though.  There are people who go and stay in the desert to try to pan for gold out there still.
