I'm writing a story set in 1997 where the girl listens to music in her car...should it be a CD player or cassette player in order to seem more realistic and in-touch with that time?

  1. cassette.  the CD players weren't standard.

  2. wasn't really out there that much, i have seen cars earlier than 97 that have it but i'd say go with cassette on this one.

  3. CD changers in the trunk were more popular then stick with cassette

  4. I'd stick with cassette to be safe.

  5. CD players were relatively common in cars manufactured around 1997.  My 1999 Ford Ranger has a CD player as did most over vehicles I shopped for at the time.
