  1. order of operations:

    parenthesis

    exponents/roots

    multiply/divide

    add/subtract

but if you want that equation to work out:

    7 + 9 * (3 - 1) = 25

    7 + 9 * (2) = 25

    7 + 18 = 25

    25 == 25

  2. don't you follow PEMDAS..like the order of operations which are:

    [P]arenthesis

    [E]xponents

    [M]ultiplication

    [D]ivision

    [A]ddition

    [S]ubtraction

    so wouldn't it be 7+(9x3)-1=25

not sure if the same applies cause this problem seems like algebra

  3. (7+9) (3-1)= 25

You don't need a multiplication symbol here because there are two parentheses next to each other. That automatically means to multiply.

By the way, unless I'm completely stupid, 25 isn't the right answer.

But, then again, I did lose my locker yesterday at school.

  4. It doesn't really matter. You can put them like this: (7 + 9) * 3 - 1 = 25, or you can put them like this: 7 + 9 * (3 - 1) = 25. The answer would still be the same.

(( Sorry if this is wrong! ))

  5. by following the rule of PEMDAS as mentioned in the answer above, the only solution to this problem would be:

    correct:

    7 + 9*(3 - 1) =25

    7 + 9*(2) = 25

    7 + 9*2 = 25

    7 + 18 = 25

incorrect (<> means not equal to):

    (7+9)*3-1<>25

    18*3-1<>25

    54-1<>25

    53<>25

    incorrect:

7+(9*3)-1<>25, which would be the normal solving route if there were no parenthesis

    7+27-1<>25

    34-1<>25

    33<>25
