  1. The United Way sponsors a telephone help line in Missouri. You can dial 2-1-1 from any landline phone, or  (800) 427-4626 from any cell phone, to reach an operator who will direct you to the closest place for you to get help. The 2-1-1 help line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and your call will be confidential.

    Good luck to you.

  2. Lafayette House

    1809 Connor

    Joplin, Missouri 64804

    (417)782-1772

This is for individuals with domestic violence issues and they may be able to offer some support regarding shelters or resources... I hope that you have the miracles that you are looking for soon.

  3. For your immediate needs I would contact churches and public service establishments such as the police station, or hospital. Make sure to not only ask them for help, but ask of different programs in the joplin area that can be of assistance to you. You might also look into Convoy of Hope whose headquarters is in Springfield, MO. They partner with a lot of surrounding areas and would probably be able to offer a good amount of assistance.

For a long term plan you should contact AOI for help finding a job and/or home plan. Also Habitat for Humanity might be looking for a recipient of their next housing effort.

  4. If you go to a police station or Hospital emergency room they would have referrals to agencies that will help.  If you can get to a computer, which you obviously have, try looking online for your county's social service office.  Work very hard at improving your situation,

  5. There is a Vineyard Church in Joplin.  They will give you some food, no cash and direct you to an agency that will help.
