  1. ultimate-guitar.com

but try to figure it out on your own thats what i did

  2. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory. Seriously, I don't mean it as disrespect, it was the book we used in my music theory class. It has an ear training section and everything.

  3. www.musictheory.net (try com, etc. - I think it's net). www.practicepsot.com

These will give you some help - but nothing is as good as a class.  You can also PURCHASE (but the are not cheap) entire computer programs like Auralia and others (try the Sibelius learning programs).  Good luck - Music Theory is critical to understanding music!

  4. Go to a music store (you might have to check out a couple - I know the ones around me one is great for guitars, one is great for sheet music/theory, etc.) and if you ask, they'll be able to show you theory books.

Start with the most beginner one you can find, you probably know a bit but not everything, and the series will progress from there and if you don't know some things, it'll end up hurting you in the long run.

Theory also translates through every instrument.. it changes a bit but I started with piano, and when I began taking guitar I was already way ahead, because although it's not the same, it's similar and it translates through the instruments.

Also.. theory's pretty dry, not as fun as playing the actual songs, but I've learned the hard way, it actually does help a LOT to do the theory first lol..

    GOOD LUCK!
