Obviously a scollar, inventive mind and artist- he would have researched and known details of the old testament Angels when forming a mental picture for his paintings.

When faced with facts and descriptions pulled from the Old Testament and other accounts available, Was he as interested in Extra-terrestrial ideas as we are?

Compare some of his sketches of flying machines and references of Angels in the OT, and see how many correspond. - Remember he was working with only what he could comprehend at the time and existing technology.

Was he trying to fathom it out too?

For example- Parachute-(how can they land safely?) Flying machine with two wheels (angel description) Diving aparatus (breathing suit?), Landing ladder -(wow!) Tank........um Hello!!!! - it's not a tank guys (and deenie)

  1. Leonardo often copied nature. His hang glider was built and tested in UK, it worked - flew first time out !!!

  2. First...I have been in thought as of late, sorry that I did not answer previous questions.

As to this one, there have been those through history that seen into that which passes most by. Caught up in the everyday concepts of life...

Yet there are some that pass beyond that cohesion , and see what was once good...

da Vinci saw into that phrase which many recite daily, but do not see truth as it is. He had what the world needed then and now, yet history will show forces were against any and all things not relevant to the progress of the time.

Shakespeare said it well, "There are more things in Heaven, and on Earth...than man could possibly image".

  3. the simple answer to this is you're talking bollocks.

  4. WHAT'D I DO??????? HUH???? DID I MISS SOMETHING?  I JUST WOKE UP AND HEARD YOU CALLING MY NAME!!!!

  5. Far out!  Your imagination is working overtime.  Give credit to the man?  Are you saying that angels helped him devise all those war machines?  He was just a very creative guy.  No angels were involved.

  6. Er, no.

  7. Sure Leonardo would have been familiar with stories involving angels.  Men of his time received a stern (and compulsory) religious education.  But what on Earth does this have to do with ETs?

Are you saying that you think the angels mentioned in the Old Testament really existed and that they were references to ETs seen at the time the OT was written?  I don't see what you could possibly base this on.

I would contend they never existed so they couldn't be ETs, but that's just me.

  8. I think that is a good question . Lets face it he was a genius of his day and knew things noone else could understand at the time.  Maybe he did look up and wonder??

  9. Probably not.  Leonardo died in 1519, but he still might have enountered or heard of something a lot nearer at hand for him in time than the Hebrew texts.

The link is a woodcut depiction of something that happened in Germany in 1561, and Switzerland in 1566.

Leonardo was dead by several decades but if such things were happening in Germany they also might have happened during elsewhere during the life of da Vinci
