  1. YES!

  2. You've got to be kidding, yes!

  3. yes because nelson mandela fought aganist apartheid

and martin luther king jr. fought aganist racism

  4. Martin Luther King JR. did not achieve everything he set out to achieve and though he was effective on some points  he did not suceed in his aim to stop poverty and social inequality.

He was of the feeling poverty was not just for anyone and his aim was for everyone to have an education as well as justice.

  5. Their is a difference when a person puts their life on the line versus their career.  It is the difference between good and great.  Both men are sterling examples that if you are willing to give your life for what you believe in, eventually it becomes possible.  They also were leaders.  In hindsight both are revered, however, both men where hated more than the partisan rhetoric of Bush and the partisan rhetoric of Clinton followers.  In either case, those men could have been lynched on a dark road somewhere, if they did not have people watching after their well being.

What becomes effective is that they went for broke and everyone can see it and eventually appreciate it.  Their intentions were controversial but their quest for a higher quality of justice was pure.  For this reason, the world is a better place.  Even if they did not complete all that they set out to do.  We are better today because of them.  Yes. They were very effective.
