Were off to Dublin soon - anyone recommend a good restaurant ?

We want something special for our 25th anniversary - we love fish. I hear the oysters are good over there ?

The Temple Bar area near Crown Alley. I recall passing some fine looking fish restaurants there.

say goodbye to your credit card, dublin very expensive. dublins more famous for its scampi or langustene as the posh peoples call it. i usually eat in abrakebabra or burger king in dublin i reckon if you walk about you'll find a good restaurant.  stay safe and dont leave your hubbys side and draw a route from your hotel to where your going to, lost and drunk in dublin not a good thing

And of course on your budget-

Actually there aren't a glut of good fish restaurants in Dublin, which annoys me as we are an island nation!! But there are some good restaurants that do fish!

If you want to spend alot of money, Shanahans on the green is excellent (the best fillet steak in the city)

If you want a great restaurant that only doesn't have Michelin stars because of it location go to Chapter One on Parnell Square, again not cheap, but great value for the dining experience, the chef there just won ANOTHER best chef award.

Theres another good place called Pearl on Merrion Row, french style with an oyster bar.

I think for the fish loving side of you, I would go to a few places for lunch, rather then your anniversary dinner.. you could go out to Howth to the Bloody Stream, its a little touristy, but grand.

There's a fish restaurant in the famous old Bewleys Cafe on Grafton street (the main shopping street in the south city centre) called Mackerel.

A lovely relaxed place in sandymount called Itsa4.

Good atmosphere, only ok food in the Unicorn, merrion row.

There's a lot of decent places in Dublin.  But the good ones are often very expensive.  A tip for seafood go just outside Dublin to Howth.  It's a fishing port in Dublin bay.  There are a few good restaurants there that serve oysters, lobsters day fresh.  If you really love fish try the Wild smoked salmon.  You haven't really eaten smoked salmon untill you've tried that.
