Were some children bitten by a cobra in an elementary school in Mexico recently?

A student returning from a visit to see relatives in Mexico reported witnessing an incident involving a scientist visiting the school with venomous snakes at an

assembly. A kindergartner ran forward and grabbed a king cobra and was promptly bitten. Two other kindergartners were also bitten. As fantastic as this sounds, this child description sounded very believable with the details he included. Did this actually happen during the period between 12-20-07 rhru 1-7-08?

That never happened in México.

Besides, cobras are not from México, they are from India.

I live in Mexico. It would have been in all the newspapers, on internet and TV. This is the first I have heard of it.

But the tipoff that this is not true is the time period you mention: 12-20-07 thru 1-7-08. That was Christmas vacation all over the country.

No, that didn't happen. I live here and watch the news religiously every day, check around on the internet, neves heard of anything like that!

I've was in Mexico for that period of time and I watched National News regularly and I don''t remember that story, I think that it would have been in the headlines. I also searched Google News México and I couldn't find anything.
