Were the animals morally justified in killing Steve Irwin in retaliation?

Possibly as he made an awful lot of money from keeping animals in captivity, which I don't agree with. I feel for his family and their loss, but I am sorry I couldn't stand him.

morals dont come into play with animals because they only react through instinct.  steve irwin knew the risks involved with exploration of the wild, he was comfortable with the risks and dodged danger for many years but you can only dance with the devil so long

In retaliation for what?  Steve Irwin never did them any harm.

Stingrays do not attack people unless you do something that makes them feel threatened, and Mr Irwin must have done something to that creature for it to kill him

As far as I know he did a lot to help and protect animals in need, not least through his farm/ wildlife reserve, and the education it provided the visitors.

What would have been nice is if the crocs had attacked Germaine Greer, as I quite liked Steve Irwin. I think Germaine Greer would argue that black is white if it increased her own pathetic "celebrity". Anything to keep herself in the press.
