Were the apostles unimpressed with jesus at the crucifixion?

they had seen him perform miracles before must have been very disappointing for them to see him die like that

  1. No, his whole point was to die for our sins, so the KINGDOM OF GOD could be realized [through the church]

    basically, no die = no church

    they also pretty much knew that already too.

    Until afterwards, when they came to understand why.

  4. They were in on the hoax. They knew he was faking his death. (Legs not broken, took resperine to go into a three day hypothermic coma.)

  5. They were probably afraid that they were next.

  6. The only disciple that didn't run was John. Everyone else ran away as Jesus predicted. Jesus also said that He would die, and then arise again, but the disciples didn't catch on.

  7. Disappointed?  It completely shook them, they didn't understand it was necessary.  They were, to say the least, in shock and scared and hiding.  Thus the turn around at the resurrection.
